To complement this, we offer a short course for all GCSE and A-Level drama students, designed to give a complete overview of theatre production. These extended sessions provide more time than standard in-school courses, giving students a hands-on introduction to the technical side of theatrical production. Pupils gain practical experience in sound, lighting, and effects, learning how theatre productions are brought to life behind the scenes, and developing an understanding of the roles, responsibilities, and skills required to operate technical equipment safely and effectively.
For those interested in audio, our workshops on sound systems and production explore the fundamentals of live sound, including microphone techniques, mixing, amplification, and sound effects management. Pupils have the opportunity to work directly with equipment, learning how to set up, operate, and troubleshoot a variety of sound systems in a realistic theatre or event environment.
Our workshops on lighting design and systems focus on the creative and technical aspects of stage lighting.
