Cousre Information

Our training courses are carefully structured to provide a hands-on, practical learning experience, whether as a full-day, half-day, or short session. Each course is designed to give participants a clear understanding of the technical skills required to bring productions to life.

Courses cover sound, lighting, and effects for theatre, live music, and general production, as well as specialized workshops for bands. Participants gain experience in operating equipment, planning setups, and managing live performances, with practical exercises included throughout each session.

The workshops are designed to give learners a complete, step-by-step understanding of each area, helping them build confidence and develop the skills needed to manage technical aspects of productions safely and effectively.

  • How are the courses structured?

Our courses are designed to provide a practical, hands-on learning experience, carefully structured to ensure participants gain both knowledge and confidence in technical production. Each session, whether a full-day, half-day, or short workshop, is broken down into clear modules that cover the essential areas of sound, lighting, and effects.

We start with the basics, introducing equipment, terminology, and fundamental principles. From there, participants move on to practical exercises, applying what they have learned by setting up and operating real systems in a safe and supportive environment. This approach ensures learners understand not only how equipment works, but also how it is used in real-world theatre, live music, and event production scenarios.

Courses are designed to be interactive and flexible, with guidance tailored to the experience level of each participant. Whether the focus is on general production, specialized sound, or lighting design, the structure allows learners to progress step-by-step, gaining confidence while building practical skills they can apply immediately in their own productions.

  • What equipment is required?

Where possible, our courses are delivered using the equipment you already have available. We believe it is always best to learn on the systems you will actually be working with, as this provides the most relevant and practical experience for participants. By using familiar equipment, students can build confidence in handling, setting up, and troubleshooting the exact tools they will rely on in real productions.

If you do not have access to suitable equipment, we can provide everything needed for the course. This can include sound systems, mixing desks, microphones, stage monitors, amplifiers, playback devices, lighting rigs, control desks, LED fixtures, and effects equipment. All items are delivered and set up in a safe and controlled environment, ready for hands-on use.

Any additional equipment hire is offered at a small extra cost, ensuring that every course can still be fully practical and immersive, even if participants don’t have their own systems to work with. Our aim is to make training accessible, realistic, and tailored to your situation.
