Technical Training Services

Koncept Productions Ltd Technical Training Services with hands on a sound mixing desk and a team learning to focus stage lighting fixtures

Imagine stepping into the world of theatre and live events, where creativity, teamwork, and energy bring unforgettable moments to life. At Koncept Productions Ltd, we’ve spent over 30 years doing just that — and now we’re here to help you do it too.

Our training is all about giving you real experiences, building your confidence, and showing you what it’s like to be part of the action. Whether it’s sound, lighting, or the behind-the-scenes magic that inspires you, we’ll help you develop your skills and open the door to new opportunities in theatre and live events.

School and College Training

We make it easy for schools to give their students a real taste of the theatre and live events industry. Our team delivers short training courses directly in schools, bringing all the expertise and equipment needed to create an exciting, hands-on experience. These sessions are designed to fit around the school timetable while still giving learners the chance to get stuck in, try out new skills, and explore the many roles that make live productions possible.

We also understand that some students choose the technical pathway for GCSE or A-level drama, but not every school has the in-house expertise or resources to support this specialist area. That’s where we come in. Our trainers have decades of professional experience and can provide the technical knowledge, practical demonstrations, and industry-standard equipment that many schools may find difficult to access on their own.

For a deeper dive, we offer half-day and full-day courses that allow students to spend more time learning, experimenting, and building their confidence. These longer sessions give us the chance to cover multiple areas — from sound and lighting to general backstage know-how — and let students experience the thrill of pulling everything together in a mini production. Whether it’s a quick introduction or a fully immersive workshop, our courses are flexible, engaging, and tailored to inspire young people at every stage of their journey.

Fundamentals Training for Amatuer Dramatics and Small Production

Our courses are not limited to schools and colleges. We also offer training for members of amateur dramatics groups, community theatre, and small-scale productions.

These full or half day workshop sessions are tailored to suit learners of all ages and experience levels, providing practical, hands-on skills in sound, lighting, and stage production.

Whether you are part of a local drama group, organizing a small performance, or just keen to learn more about theatre production, our workshops give you the confidence and knowledge to manage and operate technical equipment effectively.

We aim to make technical production accessible to everyone, helping amateur and semi-professional performers bring their productions to life with professional-standard technical support.

Learn the Skills That Bring Theatre to Life

At Koncept Productions Ltd, our training is designed to give you hands-on experience with the essential skills that power every theatre production and live event. We believe learning should be practical, creative, and exciting — giving you the chance to explore different areas and find what inspires you most.

Theatre Production Skills
Theatre Production Skills are all about working together behind the scenes to make a show happen. From sound to lighting, every role is part of a team effort that supports the performers and creates the magic on stage. Learning these skills builds confidence, problem-solving, and collaboration with all the other departments.

Sound Training
Great sound can transform a performance, and our training puts you at the heart of it. You’ll learn how to set up and operate microphones, mixers, and playback equipment, as well as how to balance voices, music, and effects. By working with professional-grade equipment, you’ll gain confidence in creating crystal-clear soundscapes that bring every moment to life.

Lighting Training
Lighting doesn’t just illuminate a stage — it creates atmosphere, directs focus, and tells a story. Our workshops introduce you to the art and technology of stage lighting, from rigging and programming to designing lighting states. You’ll explore how colour, movement, and intensity can transform a scene and learn to think like a lighting designer.

Visual and Atmospheric Effects
Learning about visual and atmospheric effects reveals the innovative ways design can bring new dimensions to a performance. From haze and smoke to projections and pyrotechnics, these effects create mood, heighten emotion, and immerse the audience in the story. It’s an exciting way to see how creativity and technical skills combine to take theatre to the next level.

Get better sound for your band

We offer a short course for musicians and band members responsible for their own sound. This course covers the fundamentals of system setup, microphone placement, basic sound theory, controlling amplifier levels, and managing overall volume, giving participants the skills to achieve a clean, balanced, and professional sound for live performances.
This workshop is open to all ages, it's never too late to improve your sound.
